The Me I’m Letting You See

I’m a suburban Mother in a blended family.  I am in sales.  I am a non-practicing Catholic.  I vote a split ticket.  I speak my mind to a fault.  I’m out-going, confident and an open book to most; I am myself to and with five select individuals.  Which is pretty much the opposite of what the vast majority perceive.  Which is why this is somewhat difficult.

I have a 15-year-old step-son with developmental delays and Aspergers syndrome who has taught me more about character and perseverance than I could ever hope to teach him.  I have a 12-year-old daughter with a heart of gold and a will of steel.  I have a 10-year-old step-son who gives new meaning to the words “love” and “dedication”.  I have a 9-year-old son who aspires to the Marine Corps, the CIA and Politics.  In that order.  His retirement is already planned.  Just ask him.

I don’t have a “point” per say to writing this…it’s not a project or a mission or a way to change my life or that of anyone else.  It’s simply me dipping my toe in the water of honesty to see if I’m ready to jump.  Perhaps that will change…evolve…perhaps there will be a grand design to my musings that will become clear in time.

For now, just me being the part of me I’m allowing you to see.
